A book placed in a child's hands
Books have been given to children across Israel so that more families can discover a story connecting imagination, conversation and simple ideas for everyday life.

From the heart of Canada — to the hearts of children in Israel.
After October 7, 2023, Mor Ben Zaken saw the distress and growing need among children, parents and educators in Israel. She set out to create an accessible way to help children strengthen their inner world and resilience. From that purpose grew the Magic Carpet books, the educational approach and the community work — helping more children discover their inner strengths and gain practical ideas they can carry into everyday life.
From Canada to Israel — and from Israel to Jewish communities around the world.

How books become action
Three circles that continue to grow
The goal is not simply to give a book. It is to create a meaningful connection between story, imagination, conversation and community — and invite more people to become part of the journey.
02
An experience that continues beyond reading
In early-years settings and communities, children met the characters and continued the story through imagination, conversation, play and creativity.
03
Partnerships that widen the circle
Municipal leaders, educators, Jewish communities and supporters have joined the initiative to bring the books and their shared language to more children and families.
Connections across borders
Connecting Israel with Jewish communities around the world
The initiative has brought Mor together with municipal and education leaders, public representatives, rabbis, Jewish communities and supporters in Israel and abroad. Community events in Canada have helped build relationships and involve more people in the work supporting children in Israel.
