My Story
A need that became a mission
My name is Mor Ben Zaken. I am a therapist, author and founder of Color The World Brillora Foundation.
After fifteen years of living and working in Canada, where I built a successful business, I chose to return to Israel following the profound shock of October 7, 2023. I saw the distress and growing need among children, parents and educators, and felt compelled to devote the coming years to creating stories, language and practical tools that could support children and the adults who care for them.
That need inspired the Magic Carpet books and the educational approach behind them. I wanted to make complex ideas accessible through simple stories, giving children ways to use imagination, thoughts and words in everyday life — and giving the adults alongside them a shared language of encouragement.
I founded Color The World Brillora Foundation to help bring the books to more homes across Israel. Through volunteer activities in childcare centres, schools and communities, and partnerships in Israel and abroad, I work to help more children and families discover the books and the strengths within themselves.
My Vision
A shared language of imagination, strength and hope
My vision is to offer children in Israel and Jewish communities around the world simple, meaningful tools through imagination, colour and hope — helping them explore their inner world and discover their strengths.
Through stories, guided imagery and play, children can practise encouraging self-talk and discover new possibilities. That shared language can also build bridges between parents and children, educators and students, and communities across the world.
I imagine a child in Israel resting their head on a pillow at night, remembering an encouraging word or an idea that helps them feel stronger.
And I want parents and educators to have simple ways to offer reassurance, encouragement and a steady presence as children grow.
